Commemorating Vishnu’s 23rd birthday

             We celebrate you today, May 24th dear Vishnu through our kind thoughts, prayers and actions to make a difference in our community.

Through Vishnu Murthy Foundation, we established a $1000 yearly scholarship in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to help students pursue their passion in STEM. Any graduating senior from FCPS who plans to attend a four-year college/university and pursue a degree in a STEM field can apply to this scholarship. We were very happy to see 80 bright young kids across the Fairfax county public schools apply for the scholarship this year.

            We would like to extend our hearty congratulations to Jessica Lerke, Senior at Centreville High School who is the recipient of Vishnu Murthy memorial scholarship this year 2023-2024. Jessica is a budding Chemical Engineer, very passionate about STEM and has spearheaded many activities in her school to empower women in STEM. She created a schoolwide program for Spanish learners to meet with Spanish-speaking ESOL students so each can practice their target language with a fluent speaker. She has also raised funds for local charities to combat suicide, domestic abuse, and homelessness such as the Katherine Hanley Shelter and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Jessica is heading to Georgia Tech this fall. We wish her the very best!
