Commemorating Vishnu’s 24th birthday

Happy 24th birthday dear Vishnu. We celebrate you through our kind thoughts & actions to make a difference in our community.

Vishnu Murthy Foundation offers a $1000 yearly scholarship in Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) to help students pursue their passion in STEM. We were very happy to see 120 bright young high school Seniors across the Fairfax County public schools apply for the scholarship this year!

We would like to extend our hearty congratulations to Sophia Huang, Senior at Thomas Jefferson High School who is the recipient of Vishnu Murthy memorial scholarship this year. Sophia is a budding computer scientist; she is currently the Sys admin at TJ and spearheading TJ’s All Girls Computer Science club. Sophia says “As a senior Sysadmin, I prioritize empowerment and camaraderie, making sure the other girls on our team feel welcomed and valued. Inspired by the Vishnu Murthy Buddy Bench in the TJ courtyard—where I’ve countlessly witnessed students build stronger camaraderie—I made it my goal to create a similarly inclusive and welcoming environment within my team.”

Sophia is heading to Columbia University this fall to major in CS and Business. We wish her the very best!
